Experience two sides of one gem

For generations, the people of Lønstrup have made their living from the wild North Sea — the same sea that is now slowly eating away at the cliff on which the town stands. In summer, Lønstrup is full of life, with many holidaymakers coming to visit. During the winter months, it is the peace and sense of immersion that define Lønstrup. Here, you truly feel the presence of the unspoilt and rugged nature, which offers renewed energy and the chance for truly unique nature experiences.

Visit one of the favourites:

Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse is one of North Jutland’s biggest tourist attractions. Standing right on the edge of the impressive Rubjerg Knude migrating sand dune, the lighthouse offers one of the most striking views across the North Sea and Vendsyssel from its top.
In 2019, it was decided to try to move the lighthouse further inland in order to preserve it, as the cliff — as mentioned above — is being gradually consumed by the North Sea.
